This course is a fantastic opportunity to spend part of the ski season in one of the worlds best ski resorts. Broaden your horizons and receive the best ski tuition on your way to an internationally recognized qualification while living in the mountains for 4-Weeks!
The course is comprised of the 35-hours hours of shadowing required for the level 2 qualification. This is covered in the first week of the course alongside our 10 and 6-week level 1&2 course members. This is followed by 7-half days of training with our select group of BASI Trainers in preparation for the BASI Level 2 Course which takes place over the final two weeks.
The 4-Week BASI Level 2 Residential Course is designed to help you develop the skills and ability to teach skiing on snow. This course follows the BASI Level 1 Instructor Course, which is a prerequisite unless you have an approved equivalence from another system.

Below is a timetable of the course for the 4 Weeks you will be with us in Val d'Isere.
Week 1:
Shadowing week.
This week you will be gaining the required hours of shadowing needed to attend the BASI level 2 assessment. This is a hugely valuable week where you will gain real world experience of what it's like to teach skiing in a mountain environment. You and your fellow course members will join fully qualified Instructors with their ski school groups in Val d'Isere for the week and learn from them as they teach paying customers on their ski trips to Val d'Isere. This will add to the toll box of teaching skills you will need to successfully deliver your teaching sessions on your level 2 teaching assessment and experience you can take with you beyond the course into your own ski teaching career.

- Immersion int the real world of ski school logistics and group organisation
- Performance analysis of "real world" beginners and intermediates
Time spent with your trainer on the hill: 35hrs
Total training time: 35hrs
Week 2:
Performance Training.
This week you will be working on the action plan created at the end of the pre required BASI Level 1 Course and also expanding the remit to the bumps and variable terrain strands with an eye on the BASI Level 2 at the end of the course. Training is delivered exclusively by BASI Trainers, and the quality of training is second to none.
Here is a summary of what to expect this week:

Time spent with your trainer on the hill: 15hrs
Total training time: 15hrs
Weeks 3 & 4:
2 half days of training (Monday & Tuesday).
Followed by 8 full days on the BASI Level 2 course (weekend off).
The BASI Level 2 Course commences on the Wednesday and will continue on a consisitent pathway of development towards your exisiting goals set out over the previous two weeks. the Level 2 comprises of 6-hours a day on the hill looking at your teaching and techincal perfromance against the BASI Level 2 cirtieria. The course ends on the Friday and will be followed by a final party that evening organsied by ICE!
Total training time: 54hrs
The program above follows how the course has run in recent years but should not be viewed as a definitive itinerary, it is subject to change, which will be communicated to you week to week via the members area of the website and ICE App. It can be subject to some variation depending on weather conditions and other circumstances, but this will give you a good idea of what to expect. There may be further additions to the course plan/program which have not yet been confirmed for the coming year but if this is the case, they will be communicated to you in plenty of time.
Skiing Standard
To attend this course, you must hold a current BASI Level 1 qualification or have an approved equivalence from another system.
Post Course Qualification
At the end of this course, you will receive guidance on how to continue improving your skiing and teaching performance.
After successful completion of this course you will need an additional 35hrs of Snowsports School experience before you receive your BASI Level 2 qualification.
