2019 Piste Performance Skis - Test Review

Another cracking fair and unbiased review by Mark Jones and his expert team of testers. This review looks at Piste skis, otherwise defined as skis intended to be used on the piste, from changing edge in a blink of an eye to laying into some great carving turns. The three top skis were
Nordica Dobermann Spitfire Ti
Salomon S/Max Blast
Volkl Deacon 74 Black
Great grip from the Nordica, cracking long turns on the edge with the GS construction but also forgiving quick turns underfoot. Suitable for those looking for a performance piste ski.
The edge amplifier on the Salomon S/Max Blast creates a whopping potential 30% better edge grip, with race like grip. The testers had to seek out the ice as the gripping potential was outstanding. Phenomenal energy received when going through a turn. Unanimous high scoring from all testers, like its name suggests its a fantastic 'blast'! Suitable for shorter medium range turns but an all-round fantastic piste ski
Astonishing changes with the Volkl Deacon 74 Black have improved it immensely from last year, soft flex and well balanced a very easy good performance piste ski.
Three cracking choices for piste performance skis this year.
