Simon Cooke

BASI Trainer & Snowboard Instructor

Simon is from the new breed of BASI trainers, teaching snowboarding as a respected professional sport. With many years of experience, he has acquired extensive knowledge and talent in more than one discipline. He has all round mountain skills which reach sports as diverse as snow-skating, tele-marking, back-country hiking and his true passion of snowboarding.

Simon has an ability to teach the up and coming teachers with relaxed professionalism, putting students at ease. His understanding of all technical balance sports has given him a unique insight to teach snowboarding, allowing him freedom to combine expertise and playfulness to guide students to their desired goals.

Si grew up in Birmingham, UK and is the original street BMX’er. He traded the inner city for the Alps at 18, to pursue snowsports, and currently resides year round in France. Forging a career in Snowboard Instruction, his progression through the BASI system has led him to International professional teaching qualifications and to achieve the prestigious role of a British Trainer. This has allowed him to experience Europe’s premier resorts and all its hidden gems.

Summers are spent on the West Coast of France surfing the heavy beach breaks and true to his roots, still loosing skin in the skate park.

ALLIANCE snowboarding is his greatest venture with partners Renelle Mortimer and Neil McNair, the first snowboard specific school in the Espace Killy.
