This course is perfectly suited for those looking to use their qualifications in the coming winter. A shorter, more intensive version of the 10 week Gap course, this course is best suited to those who do not have enough time to do the classic 10 week course or for those going through their qualifications on more of a budget.
Accommodated right by the lake, the chalet is perfectly located for off-snow activities and in beautiful surroundings.
The course kicks off with an intensive personal performance course
given by BASI Trainers covering all areas of skiing or snowboarding - high-speed,
off-piste, bumps, steep slopes, racing, snowpark and freeride,
mountain safety and off-piste awareness.
This is followed by a Level 1 Instructor Course, two weeks of full-time on-going training and shadowing of ski instructors in the workplace, and culminates in the two week Level 2 Instructor course.
At the end of this period, if students
have reached the required standard, they achieve the Level 2 Ski Instructor Qualification.

Skiing standard:
We can cater for a large range of abilities since there are many groups on the course. Because of this, if you are already a good skier your level will be pushed with other good skiers around you. Our trainers train and assess to the highest levels in BASI so there is no ceiling to your improvement. Similarly if you are an inexperienced skier or rider you will be in a group with similar abilities so your needs will be met in this respect too. The 6 week course follows a similar format to the 10 week course but because it is four weeks shorter, it does not have a much intermediary training time between levels to get to the required standard for Level 2. For this reason it is advisable to have done more weeks skiing before attending this course to give yourself a good chance of success. 16 weeks skiing is a rough guideline.
Insurance:
It is vital that you are properly insured against injury, loss of personal effects and curtailment. Students will need to purchase an insurance policy, details of various suppliers will be posted when you receive your booking form.
